Today’s photos are cheating a little because they were all taken yesterday but I think it is still far because the post-processing was done today!
Over the past month or so I’ve slowly been learning a few tricks for how to use photoshop more effectively so the first image I have for today is really more a demonstration of how these skills are progressing. During the Lunch yesterday we all went onto the lawn and played a bit of Petanque which, through sheer luck and probably cheating, James won 7 times in a row. Finally Matt stepped up to the plate and proceeded to hand James his ass and I captured the after game reaction.

Unfortunately when Matt was showing his good sportsmanship by flipping James the bird James wasn’t in the shot and when I adjusted Matt had already put his hands down. So by the powers of Photoshop I composited the images and here are the unedited images:

Now that the fun is over I also have the two images which were intended for today’s update, one of which is also an obvious candidate for Assignment 3. And the first is just a gratuitous ‘pretty reflections on the water’ shot. The focus is a bit off but that isn’t too bad given the depth. And the use of noise-removal and a new contrast boosting technique from the DPS site means I like the final image:

Bit of crappiness around Matt’s body and I didn’t notice that it had used the blown out sky instead of the nicer contrast from the other image. But not too bad and I think if one didn’t know it was a ‘shop then you might not notice.

The last one is a bit funny because while it is an obvious ‘diagonal by tilting the camera’ it isn’t what I intended. Seems I suck at being able to visualize which way the diagonal will be when shown on a normal screen so while I was aiming for the black sky to be in the top left making it look upbeat you get it in the bottom left making the building look overbearing. Or falling over
